We're absolutely delighted to announce the launch of our brand new Tuscany Art Retreat, taking place from 26th September – 3rd October 2027.
We've dreamed of creating an art retreat in Tuscany, and after searching and visiting several venues, we're thrilled to have found a place that captures everything we were looking for. Beautiful scenery, authentic Italian charm, wonderful food, inspiring locations and a relaxed atmosphere where creativity can flourish.
This retreat is designed to be so much more than an art holiday. It's a chance to slow down, immerse yourself in the beauty of Tuscany and spend a week surrounded by like-minded people who share a love of art, travel and great company.
Stay in the Heart of Tuscany
Our home for the week is the beautiful Borgo Gallinaio, a lovingly restored Tuscan hamlet nestled amongst rolling hills, vineyards and olive groves.
With its traditional stone buildings, peaceful gardens and breathtaking countryside, it's the perfect place to unwind after a day of painting or exploring.

Paint with Sarah Stokes
Throughout the week you'll be guided by internationally renowned wildlife artist Sarah Stokes, supported by the wonderful Sharon Gibson.
Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced artist, you'll enjoy demonstrations, and plenty of encouragement in a friendly, welcoming environment. Our retreats are never about perfection, they're about enjoying the creative process, developing your confidence and having fun along the way.
Discover the Magic of Tuscany
As well as daily painting sessions, we'll explore some of Tuscany's most beautiful and historic destinations.
Our itinerary includes visits to the magnificent city of Siena, the medieval hill town of San Gimignano, and the enchanting walled village of Monteriggioni. These beautiful places provide endless inspiration, from atmospheric streets and historic architecture to spectacular landscapes.
There will also be plenty of time simply to soak up the Italian way of life, enjoying authentic Tuscan cuisine, relaxing with fellow guests and taking in the slower pace that makes this region so special.
A Retreat for Everyone
Many of our guests travel on their own, while others come with friends or partners.
If you're travelling solo, you'll be welcomed into a friendly group where lifelong friendships often begin. If you're bringing a partner who doesn't paint, they're very welcome to join you and enjoy the accommodation, excursions and Tuscan experience while you attend the art workshops.
One of the things our guests tell us time and again is that they arrive as strangers and leave as friends.
Why Olive & Plum Retreats?
Every Olive & Plum retreat is carefully designed to combine exceptional tuition with unforgettable destinations and genuinely personal service.
Following our recent Italian retreat in Puglia, guests described their experience as:
"My Art Retreat with Olive & Plum was beyond my expectations."
"The accommodation was authentic and beautiful, the food was incredible and the whole experience was really enjoyable."
"My favourite part of the trip was the incredible friendships I made."
These comments perfectly capture what we hope every guest experiences, beautiful surroundings, inspiring art tuition and a week that creates memories long after you return home.
