Carla Grace
Internationally recognised wildlife artist with collectors worldwide. Highly respected tutor and mentor, sharing her expertise through workshops and in-depth tutorials

Carla Grace is an internationally-acclaimed, award-winning wildlife artist, educator and creative mentor whose breathtakingly realistic and emotive work captivates collectors and students around the world.
Born in South Africa and shaped by a childhood across Zimbabwe, New Zealand and Zambia, Carla’s deep connection with the natural world fuels her art and gives life to every creature she paints — from the quiet intensity of a predator’s gaze to the delicate texture of fur and feather.
Carla’s artistic journey began at a young age, winning her first major art prize at 13 and painting detailed wildlife studies by 16 — even running commission work while still at school. Her early years living close to remarkable wildlife instilled a unique visual memory that informs her work to this day. After formal art studies and a bold move to Australia at 23, she embraced art as a full-time career, turning her passion into a thriving studio practice and international presence.
Renowned for her stunning blend of hyper-realism with subtle, narrative depth, Carla pushes beyond pure representation — inviting viewers to feel the presence, personality and story within each subject. Her paintings are not just technically remarkable, but emotionally resonant, often stirring awe, connection and reflection.
Alongside her studio work, Carla is a generous teacher and mentor, sharing her expertise through tutorials, workshops and creative guidance to help artists expand their technical skills, deepen their creative confidence and find their own artistic voice. She believes in art as both craft and personal expression, guiding students with clarity, insight and inspiration.
We’re over the moon to welcome Carla to Olive & Plum. Her passion for wildlife, technical brilliance and thoughtful teaching will inspire you to see the natural world and your art practice with fresh eyes and bold ambition.
