Pauline Teunissen 

For 15 years, Pauline worked as an illustrator and pattern designer, represented by agents in the US and UK and collaborating with major international clients. Over the past five years, she has been shifting towards more autonomous work, embracing the freedom to experiment with scale, materials and technique. Her artwork has been shown in galleries across Europe and the US and even in a Parisian museum.

With more than two decades of teaching experience, Pauline brings warmth and positivity to her classes. She believes everyone can create in their own way, free from pressure or expectation. For her, art is a form of meditation - a way to relax, reflect and reconnect. In her workshops, students are encouraged to explore freely, sometimes even through observation exercises that border on meditation. She sees teaching not only as instruction but as an invitation to slow down, notice and play.

Much of her inspiration comes from time spent outdoors. Hours wandering through dunes, woods, and beaches spark encounters with hidden creatures and fleeting details - a fallen leaf, a glimmering wing, a rustle in the undergrowth. These moments filter into her delicate, detailed works, where organic forms and soft textures combine like music: flowing, repeating, and occasionally breaking into rhythm. Her art is more than an ode to nature; it is about creating peaceful, joyful spaces where quiet stories can unfold.

Alongside her studio practice, Pauline hosts The Creative Cocoon, an online art club on Substack. There, she shares her own creative process while offering a safe, encouraging space for people to experiment and grow together, supported by her positive guidance and enthusiasm.
